OUR ARTIST COMMUNITY
Meet the Artists
These are our regular artists -- most of us exhibit work in almost every show. However, we occasionally exhibit
work by guest artists with a particular interest in the upcoming exhibit or theme.

MOOKIE MARGOLIS
SLAC Co-Founder, Club Representative, Critique Moderator, and Artist.
Mookie Margolis knew she wanted to be a fine artist ever since she (at age 6) discovered Yoshitomo Nara's work; her own style is heavily influenced by his -- described as pleasing, disgusting, and bold. She enjoys working with many different mediums including screen printing, painting, illustration, photography, collage, scultpure, and her favorite: deco pens. Mookie has refined her artistic skills via summer programs at Idyllwild, Oxbow, Academy of Art, SFAI, and (as of Fall 2018) School of the Arts Institute of Chicago.

LILI PRICE
SLAC Co-Founder, Student and School Communications Manager/Direction, and Artist.
Lili Price's style is inspired by "Alice in Wonderland" -- the book that fueled her love of wonderful weirdness and beautiful craziness; her work tends to be incredibly intricate, aesthetically pleasing, and twisted. She attended the Oxbow summer program, ArtWorks classes, a pre-college intensive at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago, and (as of Fall 2018) summer courses at the Academy of Art and the Sadie Valeri Atelier. She has also sold "Designed by Lili" products (small ink designs on stationery, calendars, wrapping paper, and more) since 2013 and plans to be come an illustrator or designer. Lili is also a classical pianist and avid feminist.

ASHA MCGEE
SLAC Co-Founder, Curatorial Director, Public Outreach Director, and Artist.
Asha McGee (daughter of Barry McGee, Clare Rojas, and Margaret Kilgallen) is an aspiring art curator with a love for sharing and creating with the artistic community. She attended summer programs at Oxbow, CCA, and the Anderson Ranch, exhibited work in a SWIM gallery show, and completed an internship at the SFMOMA. Her art is characterized by simple line work and often a mixture of text and image to communicate something she is passionate about; an example of this was her series of Frida Kahlo prints created after discovering that Kahlo's name was lesser known than Diego Rivera's at her school. Because her art usually has something to say, her prints tend to be showcased on tote bags, shirts, or around the city.
